Educate I Dade wants to empower young girls and women in Miami-Dade County to enter coding or another STEM field. The team seeks to create a mentorship pipeline between young girls exploring coding in K-12 to young professionals studying coding and computer science-related fields or are already in the career. Miami Dade College: Disparities in Minority Communities
Health disparities, food injustice, social injustice and environmental racism in the United States of America have disproportionately impacted African American and Latino communities. In partnership with the Sustainability Committees, the panel will explore the intersection of these critical socio-economic factors to understand the fragile state of these communities.

STEMNoire Black Women in STEM Week
From July 13-19, 2020, STEMNoire is curating the inaugural Black Women in STEM Week, a free virtual week of storytelling, self-care, and community building for Black women in and beyond STEM. Many of the activities will use technology to recapture some aspect of the magic that would have been our inaugural research conference and wellness retreat in Puerto Rico, which was postponed due to COVID-19.
